What’s a Millennial Worth?

Well here it is, a monthly snapshot of my net worth. I’ve always had my mind on my finances and start keeping logs until shortly after beginning my career. Feel free to follow the links to each month’s detailed breakdown. (Links coming soon – I’m actually posting this before I provide my monthly breakdowns)

There are several reasons behind this transparency:

  1. As mentioned on the About page, I’ll be held accountable to you guys.
  2. I’m hoping feedback from you guys will provide additional motivation.
  3. As an engineer, I’m a visual thinker and graphs provide so much information.

To track all of this, I use a software called iBank (only available on the Mac – sorry!). I previously used Quicken on my Windows machine, and to be honest I haven’t done an analysis on which program is better. However, I can build my reports and export them to Excel easily. It’s there that I do my manipulation – which really helps bring unusual items to attention.

I’m constantly editing my spreadsheet to display the data in a more useful format. One day I hope to get it to a point that I can provide it for my readers to use! Hopefully you already have your own method to calculate your new worth – if not, I hope this will encourage you to do the same!

Got behind on this in 2016! Slowly working on bringing my tracking back up to date! Will add links soon. Sorry! :/
